This checklist is designed to guide new tutors through the orientation process, ensuring they are familiar with the essential policies, procedures, and resources available to them as they begin their tutoring role.

• Review Tutor Handbook

  Read through the tutor handbook to understand the policies, expectations, and guidelines for tutoring.

• Understand Organizational Culture

  Learn about the organization’s mission, vision, and values to align your tutoring practices with the overall goals.

• Meet with Mentor

  Schedule a meeting with an assigned mentor to discuss experiences, challenges, and tips for success in tutoring.

• Complete Required Training

  Attend any required training sessions on tutoring methods, tools, and technologies used within the program.

• Familiarize with Learning Management System

  Log into the learning management system and navigate through its features to become comfortable using it for session planning and resource sharing.

• Set Up Tutor Profile

  Create and complete your tutor profile on the educational platform, including areas of expertise and availability.

• Review Student Demographics

• Prepare Initial Meeting Agenda
