Network Configuration Checklist ( IT )

This checklist ensures that all necessary steps are taken to properly configure network settings for new devices or services within the organization, ensuring security and connectivity.

• Gather Network Requirements

  Collect all necessary information regarding the network requirements for the new device or service, including IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and VLAN information.

• Configure IP Address

  Assign the gathered IP address to the device, ensuring it does not conflict with existing devices on the network.

• Set Up DNS Settings

  Configure DNS settings to ensure that the device can resolve domain names correctly.

• Configure Firewall Rules

  Set appropriate firewall rules to allow necessary traffic to and from the device while maintaining security.

• Test Network Connectivity

  Verify that the device is able to communicate with other devices on the network and access the internet if required.

• Document Configuration Settings
