This checklist is designed to assess and ensure the ergonomic setup of workspaces to promote employee health and productivity by preventing injuries related to poor workstation design.
Ensure the chair height can be adjusted so that the feet rest flat on the ground.
Verify that the monitor is at eye level and about an arm's length away to reduce eye strain.
Check that the keyboard and mouse are positioned to allow the arms to be at a 90-degree angle and wrists straight.
Ensure the desk height allows for an ergonomic posture, where the elbows are at 90 degrees when typing.
Assess whether the workspace is adequately lit to minimize glare and eye strain.
Determine if the employee has a footrest if their feet do not comfortably touch the ground.
Make sure there is enough space under the desk to allow for movement and foot placement.
Ask the employee about their comfort level and any adjustments they feel are necessary.
