This checklist provides a structured approach for tutors to ensure effective communication with students and parents, enhancing engagement and support throughout the tutoring process.
Reach out to the student and/or parents to introduce yourself and establish a communication channel. Confirm the preferred method of communication (email, phone, etc.) and response time.
Send reminders for upcoming tutoring sessions 24 hours in advance. Include the date, time, and any materials the student should prepare.
After each session, provide a brief update to the student and/or parents on what was covered, progress made, and any homework or follow-up tasks assigned.
Periodically solicit feedback from the student and/or parents about the tutoring sessions. This can include questions about what is working well and what could be improved.
Conduct a check-in halfway through the tutoring period to discuss progress and any adjustments needed in the tutoring approach or goals.
At the end of the tutoring engagement, provide a summary of the student's progress and recommendations for future study or resources.
